The Quart of Fine Gin

The old man at my door says he wants to come in:

“Sir, my battle’s with cancer do you have any gin?”

“Rascal, you’re lucky I don’t swing at your chin!

I’d sooner call foul than let you have my fine gin!”

“Sir, I’ve few days to live and the cancer’s within

And the cure for the pain is a drop of pure gin”

“You are no one I know, not even my kin

Forget about asking for a drink of my gin!”

“My wife died from the virus, my dear, darling Lynn

The sole reason I’m here is because of the gin”

“Can I make it much clearer, so where to begin?

Get the blazes away, I won’t part with my gin”

“Sir I found your wallet down the road in a bin

The contents are safe, excuse my asking for gin”

“You found my wallet, well, then you’d better come in!

For the least I can do is to offer you gin”

“Sir, this generous act turns my frown to a grin

I’ll take only one glass of your truly fine gin”

“Your cancer, please tell me the organ it’s in

Where the pain it subsides with the strength of pure gin”

“I smoked since a youth and now pay for that sin

Cancer lives in my throat where I swallow the gin”

“There must be a treatment that can give you a win

And be better for you than consuming pure gin?”

“When the virus first hit I lost work at the inn

So without a good doc my last straw is the gin”

“Your saddest of stories sends my head in a spin

I insist you depart with this quart of fine gin!”

Out of the East

and into the West

pickpockets ’round here

are simply the best;

Down from the North

and into the South

amazing what lies

come out of their mouth

Out of the East

and into the West

pickpockets ’round here

are simply the best;

Down from the North

and into the South

amazing what lies

come out of their mouth

Out of the East

and into the West

pickpockets ’round here

are simply the best;

Down from the North

and into the South

amazing what lies

come out of their mouth
