Arrow of Time

When Sam came to town

he all but fell down

Crying: “My wife and

my baby are dead!”

The folks of the town

they all rushed around

Before the old man

with the big beard said:

"You know, what is now

won’t be again

since the arrow of time

will be our friend

And, it’s a good thing

hell's at the far end

'cause much more of this

and we'd never mend"

So Sam crawled inside

in order to hide

The doc said his wife

had taken her life

Gone too the unborn

she carried within

A town full of grief

it struggled with sin

"You know, what is now

won’t be again

since the arrow of time

will be our friend

And, it’s a good thing

hell's at the far end

'cause much more of this

and we'd never mend"

Friends and foes are all dominoes in the high-stakes game called life Up on our toes we side step blows on the sharp edge of the knife

We all need health, nature’s wealth to help out along the way

But it takes a lotta stealth to keep off the shelf and pretend that we’re OK

As time moved along

Sam also moved on

A new family

a roof overhead

The folks of the town

they still rush around

But the tragedy’s

been put to bed

"You know, what is now

won’t be again

since the arrow of time

will be our friend

And, it’s a good thing

hell's at the far end

'cause much more of this

and we'd never mend"
